Five games to look forward to before Christmas

The next few months have some epic titles waiting to be released, ensuring that your holidays and downtime will be filled with nothing but epic gaming action.

We highlight five games (actually six) we are excited for before 2018 arrives.

New football titles – September

Both ‘FIFA 18‘ and ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 2018’ release in September. The debate still rages on as to which of the franchises is the best, and it will be no different in 2017. One thing that ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 2018‘ has going for it ahead of release is that it is slightly cheaper, so that no doubt will play a role when customers are picking a side in the war of the football titles.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider – September

Fans of the ‘Dishonored‘ series are salivating at the chance to get their hands on the third installment in the franchise. This installment follows former assassin Billie Lurk on her quest to find her mentor Daud and ultimately kill the Outsider, who is a supernatural entity. You can also use supernatural abilities yourself, so it is going to be one interesting adventure.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War – October

For those of you who played ‘Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor’, you will know just how good the sequel ‘Middle-earth: Shadow of War‘ promises to be. The action role-playing game is set in the same world as ‘Lord of the Rings’ and promises to build on the incredible gameplay and storyline of the first installment in the series. Get ready to hunt down some Orcs!

Call of Duty: WWII – November

‘Call of Duty’ is going back to its roots with the release of ‘Call of Duty: WWII‘. World War 2 is the setting and the game promises to deliver more of the action the franchise has become famous for. It is going to be interesting to see how WWII is brought to life on the next gen consoles. Could this be the game that saves the ‘Call of Duty’ franchise from what people have called “stale” recent releases?

Star Wars Battlefront II – November

Yes, yes, yes! We at Mega8 love us some Star Wars. While ‘Battlefront‘ was a bit lame on the whole, the second installment is set to blow the opinions of the first release right out the water. There is going to be a story mode to go along with the epic multiplayer battles, so not only will ‘Star Wars Battlefront II’ have more for the player to enjoy, but it will also retain all that was good from the first game – even if that wasn’t very much.

While we could have featured more games, these are the titles we are most excited about. Do you think we missed anything important? Let us know by joining the conversation on Facebook and Twitter.
