Bad news for eSports at the Olympics

A push has been made to get eSports accepted as an Olympic sport, but a rather damning statement from International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach makes it seem that the dream won’t ever be realised.

“We want to promote non-discrimination, non-violence, and peace among people. This doesn’t match with video games, which are about violence, explosions, and killing. And there we have to draw a clear line,” Bach is quoted as saying in the South China Morning Post.

Skyrim developer to make ‘Game of Thrones’ title?

Sadly, that’s fake news. Despite a news flash on US retailer Target’s website – which sent the internet into a frenzy, Bethesda won’t be bringing us a ‘Game of Thrones’ video game. How very sad!

VR just got a tad bit cheaper

Have you been keen to try out Sony’s PlayStation VR headset but have been put off by the price? Well, the technology is set to become a little bit cheaper for the masses, with Sony announcing a $50 price cut on their product. How that translates in Rand terms remains to be seen, but at least they are thinking of the consumer… kind of.
