Preview: The Pro 16 Dota 2 League round four

The Pro 16 Dota 2 League is back for round four, but can anyone stop the quartet currently setting the pace?

Bravado Gaming, XTC Gaming, Sinister5, and White Rabbit Gaming are all yet to lose a match after three rounds of action, and if their form is anything to go by, the runs they are on look set to continue for at least another week.

However, Alpha Star Gaming, Clan-In-Progress, Damage Control, and Goliath Gaming respectively are the sides who would love nothing more than to boost their own chances of success by taking down the seemingly untouchable quartet.

Another two sides with a point to prove this Sunday are New Text Document and Divine//Sky Reborn. The duo are yet to win a match-up, so their matches against Energy eSports and Exdee Gaming respectively are MASSIVE!

Shoutcaster and tournament organiser, Devin Rigotti, says: “With three games behind us, we now reach the tipping point at the halfway mark of the league. It’s been a bit of a dramatic week, so let’s see how it effects the sides going into this set of clashes.

“Many of the matches this week are top dogs versus weaker opponents on paper, but that shouldn’t be ignored, because that is when you get the chance to see remarkable moments. The big upsets aren’t supposed to happen, right? Will we see one this week? Probably not, but that’s part of the fun – it is difficult to predict anything.”

Results Wrap: The Pro 16 Dota 2 League round three

As has become custom, Devin runs us through the matches he is most looking forward to this Sunday:

– Nibble.Horde vs APG

This to me is an interesting one. APG are the side we would favour to go through to the top half of the bracket, but this is possibly the game that determines if that is so. Nibble.Horde may be only 1 – 2, however their losses were against Sinister5 and WRG, who are currently the top two in the group, so I wouldn’t write them off in this one. I think APG will take it, but it’s a super important game for them.

– Divine//Sky Reborn vs Exdee

Exdee have just lost their mid TKC, who is likely joining one of the other sides in this tournament, although unlikely to represent said side until the end of the league. Exdee also lost to XTC, which was one of the grudge matches for the side, so they are probably not the happiest of sides right now. However, they should be just too strong against Divine who have lost all three of their previous encounters, but if there was a time for Divine to get an upset, this would be it.

– Bravado vs Alpha Star

Bravado are almost certainly going to walk out of this one as comfortable winners, but Alpha Star have had a pretty tough road so far and it will be interesting to see if they have learned any lessons from their games against Epoch and XTC.
